Privacy Policy

Version 2026-07-09 · Last updated July 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Surveillance Design ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with Surveillance Design Studio (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; to authenticate you and manage your organization and subscription; to generate the designs, estimates, and AI responses you request; to communicate with you about your account and the Service; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your project content or uploaded plans for advertising.

3. Uploaded Site Plans

Floor plans and site imagery you upload may depict sensitive facilities. They are stored within your project, are visible only to the members of your organization, and are used solely to provide the Service to you. We treat this material as confidential and do not use it for any other purpose.

4. AI Consultant

When you use the AI Consultant, your messages and relevant project context are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. We send only what is needed to answer your request and do not use these conversations for advertising.

5. Service Providers

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service — including our hosting provider, Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI responses), and our transactional-email provider (account and invitation emails). These providers may process data only as needed to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the Service.

6. Cookies

We use a single essential session cookie (acds_session) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us, and we will delete it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

8. Data Security

We protect information using measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including hashing passwords (scrypt), encrypting data in transit (HTTPS), role-based access within organizations, and optional multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal information. You can access and update much of your data directly in the Service, and you can exercise other rights by contacting us at the address below. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the version above and provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
