These Beta Terms ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Surveillance Design Studio beta program (the "Service"), operated by Surveillance Design ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, accepting these Terms when you first sign in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is provided as a pre-release beta for evaluation and feedback. Access is by invitation. Invited testers receive an individual workspace with full features for a 30-day trial period. We may modify, suspend, limit, or end your access, or discontinue the beta, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. When your 30-day period ends your workspace becomes read-only: you can still sign in to view and export your existing work, but cannot create new projects or use the AI features.
The Service is beta software provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Beta software may contain errors, may change or be unavailable without notice, and may lose or corrupt data. You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
Surveillance Design Studio is a planning and estimation tool. Its calculations and recommendations — including coverage, DORI/identification distances, storage, bandwidth, power, and bills of materials — are estimates based on published manufacturer specifications and industry-standard formulas. They do not replace a site survey, professional engineering review, or code-compliance verification. Do not rely on beta output for procurement, installation, or the design of a real security system without independent verification by a qualified professional. You are solely responsible for decisions you make using the Service.
If you were invited as a tester, the person or organization who invited you is added as an observer of your workspace and can view the designs, projects, and files you create in it. Do not upload site plans, imagery, or other material you are not authorized to share with your inviter. If you were invited as a teammate, your workspace is shared with the members of that organization.
You retain ownership of the designs, plans, images, and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"), subject to the visibility described in Section 4. You grant us the limited right to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and support the Service. We retain all rights in the Service itself, including its software, interface, and content libraries. AXIS and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners; the Service is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those manufacturers.
We welcome your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions. You grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use any feedback you provide for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you.
Participation in the beta is free. Providing the Service now is not a commitment to offer it, or any particular feature or pricing, in the future. We may introduce paid plans at or after general availability.
Our handling of personal and project data is described in our Privacy Policy. After your trial period ends, your workspace data is retained in read-only form so you keep access to it; we do not automatically delete it. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us at the address below, and we will delete it within a reasonable period.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Surveillance Design will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the beta Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service and these Terms will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Because the beta is provided free of charge, these limitations reflect the allocation of risk between us.
We may update these Terms. If we make a material change we will update the version above and ask you to review and accept the updated Terms the next time you sign in. Your continued use after acceptance constitutes agreement to the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Alabama, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
